Course abstract

During the study course, students will gain the ability to plan, develop, create and communicate, clear and precise in the process of developing their ideas, using basic skills in 2D development. The study course includes an introduction to CAD drawing, which increases traditional sketching skills. Students learn how to create landscape architectural drawings, use layers, line types, and color to represent a drawing in print; use commands to create and edit objects; creation of a symbol library.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

1. Knowledge: students acquire knowledge about digital drawing and the possibilities provided by the AutoCad program. Practical work No. 1-3.
2. Skills: Students are able to draw outdoor elements, landscape architecture projects of various complexity with the help of AutoCad program. Practical work No. 1-3.
3. Competence: to competently apply the possibilities provided by the AutoCad program in the development of landscape architecture projects. Practical work No. 1-3.

Course Content(Calendar)

1. Digital drawing. Types of drawings. AutoCAD interface. Toolbars. Application of AutoCad Model and Layout. Primitive. Modes (3h).
2. Modifiers. Block and its insertion. Painting. Blasting (3h).
3. Layers (3h).
4. Strikethrough, strikethrough editing (3h).
5. Text and size placement, editing (3h).
6. Preparation of drawings for printing (3h).
7. Practical work no. 1. (3h).
8. Topographic plan. References (3h).
9. Drawing of the improvement plan (3h).
10. Viewing raw materials of different formats, their integration and editing possibilities. Import of images, tables, text files, import of SketchUp files, import of AutoCad files. Creating and designing AutoCAD tables (3h).
11. Tool palette application. Autocad lisp commands (3h).
12. Annotative texts, dimensions, blocks (3h).
13. Practical work no. 2 (3h).
14. Drawing cuts and notes (3h).

Requirements for awarding credit points

Class attendance not less than 75%. Independent works have been developed, submitted and positively evaluated in due time. For works submitted after the specified time (if there is no justifiable reason), the mark is reduced by 1 point.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

Development of independent works, study of materials in e-studies and computer classroom. Developed drawings for outdoor elements, outdoor facilities and cuts, notations.
Practical work no. 1. Creating a drawing for an outdoor element. Digital submission of a drawing.
Practical work no. 2. Creation of a drawing of outdoor facilities. Digital submission of a drawing.
Practical work no. 3. Creating a cut and wrap. Digital submission of a drawing.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

The evaluation of the study course depends on the evaluations of practical work.
