Course abstract

Students get acquainted with building construction and engineering drawings, learn drawing and project design standards and regulations, prepare a set of pencil and computer drawings, learn about the building plans, section, elevation and node construction and design requirements.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knows engineering construction standards and regulations, project content and design, which will be assessed on the test;,
• Is able to develop drawings in pencil technique, to prepare drawings of engineering structures. The submitted set of drawings of the residential building will be evaluated;
• Able to prepare building plans, facades, sections, assemblies, structures and master plan drawings.

Requirements for awarding credit points

It is necessary to successfully write a test on the subject, to defend a set of drawings and drawings, receiving a test with a mark.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

Students must independently develop and design a set of drawings for a residential house on A3 format pages, in pencil technique.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

The developed work evaluates the principles of observing the basic rules of drawing in relation to the design of drawings and technical performance, as well as the correctness of the technological application of the solutions depicted in the drawings.
